The Company also services and sells heating and air conditioning equipment andfor certain areas , provides plumbing services. In addition, Star sells diesel fuel, gasoline and home heating oil on a delivery-only basis. Star Group, is a limited partnership that has approved an election to be treated as a corporation for U.S. federal income tax purposes effective November 1, 2017. Common units, representing limited partner interests in the Company, are listed and trade on the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") under the symbol "SGU." For Company activity through October 31, 2017, our unitholders are required to report for U.S. federal income tax purposes their allocable share of our income, gains, losses, deductions and credits, regardless of whether we make cash distributions. This activity will be reported on final 2017 Schedules K-1.

Cash distributions made on or after November 1, 2017, by Star Group, L.P. to its unitholders will be treated like dividends paid by a corporation and will be reported on Form 1099-DIV and may be subject to U.S. federal income tax, as well as any applicable state or local income tax.
